Internships
Mayfield Counseling Centers (MCC) is a well-established group private practice comprised of experienced and hard working individual, couples, child and adolescent therapists. We consist of LMFTs, LPCs, LCSWs, Psychologists, MFTCs, LPCCs and Interns. We are also fun, energetic and dedicated to our collective growth!
Each year Mayfield Counseling Centers hosts an intern cohort of 6-8 clinical interns. As a team, we value our interns and are intentional about making internships as rich and as rewarding as possible.
Intern Highlights and Information:
- Schedule to be determined mutually
- It is possible to see clients daytime, evening or weekends
- Interns should expect face-to-face clinical time, as well as additional time as necessary for case management, consultation and paperwork
- We offer regular individual and group supervision
- Monthly team trainings to include therapeutic modalities, assessments, community resources, and licensure procedures
- Interns will develop skills and provide counseling to couples, individuals and some families using a variety of theoretical approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, Trauma Informed, IFS, Play Therapy, DBT
- Interns will learn to provide excellent client care throughout treatment in terms of ethical practice, alliance-building and professionalism
- Interns commit to learning and honing counseling skills, working together with our entire team and collaborating on cases with supervisors
- Learn and utilize our systems for scheduling, phone, and billing
- Be a part of a team of bright, kind, fun, caring, intentional individuals who all value the interns and their contributions to our clinic.
