“Our experiences will never be perfect, but when we choose to pursue a life of love, victory will always be possible.” – Dr. Caroline Leaf
Walking into the counseling room for the first time takes courage and is a great step of vulnerability. I hope to create a space that feels comfortable, non-judgmental, and encouraging for you. I believe that there are many different approaches to counseling that are beneficial and helpful depending on where you are in your journey. The counseling process is a collaborative one where I hope to give you tools that will not only benefit you in the present, but that you can utilize in the future as we work towards your goals.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in primarily a person-centered technique while also incorporating reality therapy, existential therapy, and Adlerian therapy. I have a strong interest in neuroscience and how our thoughts impact our everyday life.
I have been in Colorado Springs for most of my life and love this city. While getting my bachelor’s at UCCS, I needed a couple more credits and ended up taking an introduction to counseling class. I loved it so much that I said if I ever went back to school, I would get my master’s in counseling. Through my own personal counseling journey, I finally made the decision to go back to school. I consider it one of the greatest privileges in life to sit across from someone and hear their story.
