“It’s not over if you’re still here… it’s not a tragedy if you’re still alive.” — Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man’s Fear
I approach counseling from a here and now perspective, using Gestalt therapy to promote non-judgemental self-awareness that allows clients to develop and grow. My approach draws from two perspectives; the first is that every person desires to be seen, heard, and known and that when we feel that these are true, we are able to make great change in our lives. The second is that all people can benefit from gaining new tools to engage in life’s struggles and difficulties, and so, using Dialectic Behavioral Counseling to work with my clients to develop adaptive tools to feel equipped in the midst of any life circumstance.
