Human beings are hard-wired for connection. It is innate and is as essential for survival as food, water, and air. Loving contact is vital for emotional, mental, spiritual, and even physical health. True for infants and children, the principle is just as true for adults. We are all in need of human connection; we are made to give and receive love.

I’ve seen first-hand many times over what happens when a person is deprived of that connection and the pervasive damage it can cause. It creates bondage that can be crushing, robbing us of the freedom we were created to enjoy. Suffering is inevitable; suffering alone is unbearable, and unnecessary.

I have extensive experience walking alongside people in their struggles, seeking answers together and offering structured support as they learn and try new ways of thinking and being. My experience includes trauma, attachment issues, parenting, marriage, anxiety, eating disorders, addiction, and spiritual formation.

An adopted person myself, I have been married for 24 years and am a mother to four children, two by birth and two by adoption. We have had all of the normal family struggles, as well as significant additional challenges (and blessings) due to adoption and attachment issues. I am intimately acquainted with reactive attachment disorder as it has manifested in our own family.

On a personal note, I love learning above almost anything (music and theology are some of my favorites), and especially relish when I get to enjoy these with the people I love. I am a teacher at heart and love to see light bulbs turn on when someone has a new understanding.

I strongly believe that there is healing and freedom available for the taking. It requires work, but there are strategies that are proven to be transformational. I’m thankful to have been trained in these and most eager to help you implement them in your own life and find that freedom. It is possible!
