“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” – Viktor Frankl

In the context of counseling, people bring their deepest hurts and hardest circumstances to me. I am often the only person they have spoken with about their situation. If you are in a place of needing someone to journey with you through your pain, it would be my honor to do so. I am compassionate and understanding in my approach, but I will also challenge you to grow in your confidence and resilience. One of my main areas of focus is helping clients find purpose and identity in the midst of disappointment, loneliness, and loss, while also confronting faulty beliefs stemming from society.

I am working toward specializing in sexual trauma, and my passion lies in working with men and women who have been affected in this area. If this is you, you are not alone, and you are strong enough to reach a place of vibrancy, no matter how long ago the original trauma occurred. I also accept adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, suicidal and self-harm ideations, grief, sexual identity concerns, and marital and family issues.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, playing the piano, and spending time with my daughter. She and I also like to bake together, solve puzzles, and go to the park. I have had Type 1 Diabetes since I was 14 months old, and I have a service puppy (in training) who comes with me to many of my sessions. He is a black lab/mastiff rescue named Xander, and while clients cannot regularly interact with him due to his working status, they often find that his presence brings a calming atmosphere to the session. If you feel like we would be a good fit, please contact me to set up your first session. I look forward to working with you.
