Whether experiencing emotional pain, grappling with relational complexities, coping with significant life transitions/losses, or simply seeking self-understanding, therapy offers a supportive space to examine our lives with another person.I believe we all want to feel connected to others and more alive to our own experience. My approach is based on these ideas: we heal through relationship and freeing ourselves from the constraints of the past helps us live more fully and freely in the present. Together, we can explore the underlying patterns of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing a curiosity about new ways of experiencing yourself, others, and the world. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach, so we will discern together what unique things you need from our relationship as the work unfolds. When working with couples, I focus on understanding each partner’s needs, emotions, and sense of self while exploring how personal histories and experiences shape interactions within the relationship. This process can help couples strengthen their emotional bond, address the issues they bring to counseling, and develop separateness and togetherness in the relationship.
